How capital markets teams run it
T+1 settlement
ESMA’s T+1 statement sets 7 December 2026 as the first deadline for allocations and confirmations. It became a control for the EU entity, with custodian readiness tests attached as evidence.
Retail app security
The SFC’s circular 26EC35 requires phishing-resistant authentication for internet brokers by 8 July 2027. The alert names the Hong Kong app and flags that large internet brokers must comply at once.
Market structure proposals
The SEC’s proposal to rescind the Regulation NMS trade-through rule was deferred for review, with the comment deadline on the calendar and the best-execution policy named as the document to revisit.
Client and custodian agreements
RegWatch Legal reviews custodian and client agreements for settlement timing, instruction deadlines and messaging standards, one row per agreement, each cell cited. Outputs are drafts for professional review.
Questions
Do you cover US broker-dealer rules?
Yes: SEC rules and releases through the Federal Register, and FINRA regulatory notices. They sit in the same watchlist as ESMA, the FCA and the SFC, so one change program covers every entity.
Can RegWatch tell a proposal from a final rule?
Yes. Each alert is placed on the rule’s lifecycle, from Horizon and Proposal through Consultation and Adopted to In force, and carries the comment deadline or compliance date.
How fast can we start?
After the demo, the onboarding agent drafts your company profile from your website and a short brief, then suggests jurisdictions, topics and sources. Your team confirms them, invites colleagues and sets each watchlist’s schedule. The first alerts arrive after the first run, which you can start on demand.
Guides
- Horizon Scanning and FCA Expectations: What UK Firms Must DemonstrateWe found no FCA Handbook rule that names horizon scanning; the expectation is assembled from SYSC, the Principles and the Senior Manager Conduct Rules. This piece maps each anchor to the evidence a supervisor can ask for, with a 17-row checklist and the enforcement record for firms that missed changes.
- How Many Regulatory Changes Happen Per Year? The Statistics, SourcedNo single global number exists, so this page publishes the defensible ones: 2,441 US final rules in 2025, 2,575 EU legal acts, 1,120 UK statutory instruments and 61,228 regulatory events one vendor tracked worldwide in 2022, each dated and sourced.
- Regulatory Change Impact Assessment Template (With a Worked DORA Example)A six-section regulatory change impact assessment template, published in full with no sign-up wall, then filled in end to end for the DORA subcontracting RTS. It includes the fields most templates omit: instrument lifecycle status, documented out-of-scope reasoning, and evidence and validation for each obligation.
